| Drama Devotionals | |
What is a Drama Devotional? Classes for a church drama ministry need to teach drama. But as a church class you really want them to have devotional content as well. A drama devotional accomplishes both purposes. A drama devotional invites actors to enter into a Bible narrative and use their skills to explore the experience of humans seeking God. We have found that drama devotionals sharpen acting skills while adding a devotional element to our classes. When we use drama devotionals, we first read through the situation, form the teams, and assign characters. Next we read the character considerations together. Then the teams tahe 5--10 minutes to work together to plan their monologues or dialogues. Finally each group presents their version of the devotional. |
