Just One Word Return to sketches
This monologue by Mary Magdalene fits Easter morning, but also anytime you want to celebrate our life in Christ. Mary was grieving and confused after seeing her Lord beaten and killed. Then she found the grave empty - the body, she thought, stolen. Insult added to injury, she was beside herself until she heard just one word: her name spoken by Jesus. As the song says, no one speaks your name like Jesus. For Mary that one word rolled away the stone in her heart and brought her into Easter morning.
