Lenten Monologues Return to sketches

This is a series of 7 monologues for Lent and Easter. They follow Jesus through Holy Week through the eyes of those around him. Together they show how so many people then and now misunderstand what Jesus really meant and was doing. The individual monolouges are:
The Messiah Comes - a Palm Sunday zealot looking for a political Messiah.
The Lost Sacrifice - a worshipper in the temple who loses a sacrifice when Jesus overturns the tables.
Shepherd of Israel - Caiaphas who is determined to stop this dangerous teacher from destroying Judea.
The Spirit is Willing - Peter in the garden determined to not fail Jesus again.
I Could Have Saved Him - Pilate makes his decision.
Simon's Story - a man grabbed from the crowd is forced to carry a cross that he can only assume is his own.
Just One Word - All the grief and confusion in Mary Magdalene's heart simply drops away when she hears one word.

This package can be used in a number of ways. One monologue can be presented each Sunday of Lent culminating in Easter. Or you can select your favorite four or five for a Maundy Thursday or Good Friday service and still use Just One Word for Easter morning.

Cross, i guess music, as in fashion, evoevls over time whether it is dictated by people or circumstances sometimes becomes irrelevant. there are songs though that outlasts evolution and transcends time and even culture. this song, in my opinion, is one of those. thank you again for coming back to my blog, your comments are always welcome. cheers! :)
