Feeding Time at the Spiritual Table
Christians look for a church where they will be spiritually fed - and rightly so. But the source of our spiritual nourishment changes as we mature as Christians. Early in our life with Christ we need to be fed by others as a baby is fed by his or her parents. But as we grow in Christ we need to be feeding others. In fact, mature Christians receive much of their spiritual nourishment from engaging in ministry themselves. In this funny sketch one actor is essentially the narrator, talking to the audience about feeding children at different stages of life. The other actor plays the child at each of the stages, using such props from a baby bottle to a leather jacket. As the child grows, he/she can increasingly feed himself/herself. The narrator makes the point that eventually the child must leave the nest and start caring for himself/herself and others as well.
