A sales clerk at a department store tries to serve the public. But some customers ignore the sales clerk, some are afraid to talk to her or him, and some abuse her or him. As the sales clerk's day drags on with no positive human interaction, he or she finally rebels by covertly making faces at a difficult customer.
At the end of her depressing day, the store announcer thanks shoppers for "sharing your day with us." Catching the irony, the sales clerk slouches out.
This sketch is performed by an ensemble of 7-9 people along with the sales clerk. Except for the off-stage voice of the store announcer, this sketch is done nearly entirely as pantomime, allowing the actors to express emotions with facial and body language.
